A Quick Guide to the New Tacky Fly Boxes
When Fishpond acquired Tacky Fly Fishing at the end of 2019, it surprised the fly fishing community at large. But after letting the news of the merger sink in, the synergy between the two brands became more and more obvious.
Fishpond is an industry titan in the packs & luggage space. The range of their product line is impressive, offering anglers a variety of tools to up their game on the water. Head down to your local tailwater on any given day and you’ll likely see nearly half of the anglers there rocking an FP pack.
Tacky created a name for themselves with a premium line of fly boxes. Sporting clear, magnetic lids and a durable silicone insert, anglers fell in love with them. Many dumped their foam boxes in favor of the sky blue-colored Tacky boxes.
This blog post is going to cover the new Fishpond X Tacky boxes released in 2020, but we’re already looking forward to new products coming from this merger. With these two companies together, it seem like they’ll be able to create new solutions to fly storage that we didn’t know we needed. Seems like a great fit, but only time will tell!
